The short version
Heroes of Emberglen doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts of ours, no ads, no tracking, and no analytics. Your adventures are saved in your own browser, and, only if you choose to, in your own Google Drive.
Saves on your device
The game saves your adventures and settings in your browser's own storage on your device. They never leave the device unless you export a save file yourself or turn on Google Drive sync. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
Google Drive sync (optional)
If you choose Sign in with Google, the game asks Google for permission to use a hidden app folder in your Google Drive, and nothing else. It stores your saved adventures there so you can continue them on other devices.
- The game can only see the files it made in its own hidden folder. It can't see your other Drive files, your email, or your contacts.
- Your browser talks to Google directly. Your saves are never sent to us or to any other server.
- To stop, choose Stop syncing in Saved Adventures. To delete the saved files, delete the adventures in the game, or remove Heroes of Emberglen under "Manage apps" in your Google Drive settings. You can also remove its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
The game's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Children
The game is made for kids and families. Because it doesn't collect personal information, children can play without sharing anything. Children under 13 should use Google Drive sync only with a parent's account or a Google account a parent manages.
Hosting
The game is a set of web pages hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the pages and protect the site. We don't use them to identify anyone.
